At Kasumi Japan, authenticity and performance guide everything we do. Founded in 2024 in Kasumi-ku (Kami, Hyōgo) by our Founder & CEO, Mr. Johnny, we are not a historic bladesmithing house; we are a modern Japanese knife brand built on careful sourcing, plain-spoken education, and long-term customer trust.

Our team works hands-on with specially selected knife makers in the Kasumi area and across Japan’s respected knife-making districts, including regions such as Seki (Gifu) and Sakai (Osaka). We evaluate knives the way real kitchens do: heat-treatment consistency, grind geometry, edge stability, balance, fit and finish, and reliability over time. We prioritize what matters on the cutting board, not what looks impressive in marketing.

Everything we publish is written to help chefs and serious home cooks choose and use knives with confidence. Our guides and blog content reflect practical kitchen needs and are informed by our direct conversations with makers and ongoing feedback from working cooks, so we can explain what a knife is, what it’s for, and why those details matter, without hype or exaggerated claims.

The Kasumi Japan Team exists to connect global cooks with genuinely authentic Japanese knives and to support them with transparent, trustworthy knowledge before and after the purchase.
