Gyuto Damascus VG10 Ebony Wood Handle pairs a VG10 stainless core with layered Damascus cladding to deliver a precise, kitchen-ready edge, clean food release, and refined aesthetics. Proper heat treatment and tempering give the blade disciplined hardness for long edge retention while preserving enough toughness to resist micro-chipping, and the stainless matrix provides confident corrosion resistance through humid prep and acidic ingredients. In hand, it moves with quiet authority, the edge tracking smoothly through dense proteins and crisp aromatics with a controlled, silky bite that stays keen service after service.

A balanced gyuto profile with a fine, tapering tip supports accurate detail work, while the broad belly and stable spine invite efficient push-cuts, draw-cuts, and rocking when the board demands tempo. The grind promotes low-friction passes and predictable steering, encouraging safer technique through reduced binding and a consistent, straight cut line that keeps slices uniform from heel to tip.

Built for daily durability, the Damascus cladding shields the core and maintains a polished finish, while the ebony handle offers dense stability, secure indexing, and fatigue-resistant comfort during long prep.

Treat this as a premium stainless blade with an etched Damascus finish and a natural ebony wood handle: keep it clean, dry, and protected from harsh chemicals and soaking. The blade won’t need special patina care, but the finish and wood benefit from gentle handling and prompt drying.

  • Hand wash only; mild soap, soft sponge.
  • Dry immediately—especially around the handle junction.
  • Don’t soak; protect the ebony from prolonged moisture.
  • Avoid abrasive pads/powders that can haze the etched pattern.
  • Use a wood or soft plastic cutting board.
  • Store on a magnetic strip or in a saya/sheath to protect the edge.
  • Keep away from dishwashers and high heat.
  • Wipe during prep to reduce residue and improve release.

Customer photo review of Kiritsuke Knife - Damascus 2 Red Ebony Wood Handle

This Kasumi Knives are good quality, yet it is not that pricy. I had some Nigara knives that bought previously but its not for everyone, if you love cooking at home or at work, Grab a set of Kasumi. they are balance and sharp edge. the secret is how you keep and use it.

I received the knife, it was well packaged and protected. There is just one small problem it was not at its maximum cutting but a little sharpening and it cuts like a razor blade

Super sharp, great feel in the hands and so attractive to look at. The chef’s knife is like using a piece of art as a tool.

Customer video review of Japanese Double-sided Whetstone Include Non-slip Base

These knives are awesome! They feel good in your hand. They don’t come really sharpened but the idea is to have the fun of doing it yourself. I have also ordered the stone. Cannot wait to sharpen my knives and cook!

Customer video review of Bunka VG-10 Ebony Wood Handle

Well I love the knife and I'm waiting for my free one to be shipped to me. I'm even featured in a few of your commercials with some voice over on other videos. I plan on making more videos in the future as I buy more knives in the future from you guys. The knife with razor sharp out of the box I put it to a strop and made it even sharper hair whittling. I plan on using it in my kitchen at work and talking to the owners about making possible videos there as well. You're the first company I decided to buy an actual Japanese knife from and I regret that I waited this long the knife is awesome

Nice knife. Had to run it over a steel when it arrived (it was a little dull) but it cuts sweetly! I don’t know if this is a true Japanese knife but for the $170 I paid for it it is well worth the price!

Ordering from this company it was super easy and I live in the UK and the turnaround delivery time was really not that long. For the money these nights are really good super sharp and very beautiful. But I would definitely recommend this company to everybody who wants some quality knives.

Customer photo review of Essential Japanese Knife Set – Blue Steel Blades, Ebony Wood Handles (Santoku, Nakiri, Petty)

Knives are great. I haven't had a chance to put them on the stones yet, which they definitely need (out-of-the-box edge was definitely leaving something to be desired), but I have been having fun, especially with the nakiri since it is something I have been lacking in my culinary bag. Aside from the out-of-the-box edge, the only thing keeping me from giving these knives 5 stars is that the handles have some inconsistencies around the decorative inlay. Probably nothing a little sanding couldn't have fixed at the factory before finishing the wood. These aren't the nicest knives in my bag, but they are up there and will be used frequently.

Customer photo review of 5‑Piece VG-10 Ultimate Home Cook Bundle | Japanese Knife Set (Gyuto, Nakiri, Petty, Santoku, Bunka)

I love the knives! I ordered them to give as Christmas gifts, and everyone loved them. I did have a minor issue when they arrived; two of the knives were damaged. I sent a message to customer support, and I was surprised by how quick and professional they were. They responded quickly and offered to send me replacement knives for the two damaged ones... That's why I'm giving them 5 stars.
